Collectorabilia Saturday April 4, 2026 welcomes Matt Hissem and his DeLorean Time Machine!
This is a close home built representation of the DeLorean time machine from the movie Back to the Future part 2. I bought this stock DeLorean from Michigan in 2013 and needed a full frame-off restoration which took 7months. By the spring of 2015 I had completed the time machine conversion with the help of a co-worker that was on the team of guys who restored the original DeLorean time machine from the movie. All the parts on the car represent the parts on the movie car and are to the same scale but are not identical. The whole time machine build is done in a way that is non destructive to the car. No holes were drilled into the car to mount the time machine hardware, so it can be brought back to stock condition. I had the opportunity in February of 2016 at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee to meet Christopher Lloyd who played “Doc” in the movie where he signed the passenger sun visor. Over the past few years, I have been able to update some of the time machine hardware parts to a more movie accurate state. This is daily driver in the summer and gets around all over the state for many car shows and events.
